Clean your exterior wooden floor with two ingredients!

We are all enjoying the outdoors again: the terrace, parks, the garden, or the balcony. To be able to enjoy the last two, a little, a bit of work is necessary. Many people have wooden floors on the balcony or in the garden. Whether in tile form or other, they are maintenance sensitive. It is a good thing for those wooden floors that the winters have been less severe in recent years. Regardless of that being the case, the weather still leaves its traces. The question is, what can be done about the discoloured floor? A high-pressure spray can often do more harm than good, and chlorine causes ugly stains. The best thing you can use is a stiff brush and a substance that actively helps. Below you can read more about how to best clean the wood outside.

What will you be needing?
Depending on the surface you want to clean:

– 2 litres of hot water – a stiff brush and 1/2 cup of OxiClean (similar to our Vanish)

The active oxygen in this bleach makes cleaning a lot easier. Please make sure there are no children around while you are cleaning.

What are the steps?
Start by removing all the coarse dirt and debris, this will only make a bigger mess when it gets wet. Did you spray this off with the hose? Leave the floor to dry.

Distribute the half a cup of Vanish evenly over the floor and scrub it well with the brush. Then pour the water over it and brush away all the dirt. Make sure to rinse it well, and your floor is all set for the next barbecue.

Tip: to avoid it quickly becoming a mess, it is best to treat the floor with oil.

If you prefer not to treat the floor with Vanish, you can also use a baking soda solution. Watch the video below to see how to do it!
